THE VIETAGE by ANANTARA

The Vietage by Anantara is a unique Experience! It’s a sumptuous journey that combines modern comfort with Vietnamese traditions. Launched in 2020 by Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, this luxurious carriages connects Da Nang and Quy Nhon, two major tourist destinations. Discover Vietnam in a unique and relaxing way.

The Vietage by Anantara operates two 12-seat reservation-only carriages on daily return railway routes between Da Nang and Quy Nhon and Nha Trang and Quy Nhon in South Central Vietnam, offering luxury slow train travel experiences for guests exploring Vietnam.

Traveling aboard the Vietage is an adventure into the heart of Vietnam’s cultural richness. The luxury carriage doesn’t just connect three cities; it serves as a gateway to destinations filled with historical treasures, living traditions, and exceptional heritage sites.

The journey begins in Da Nang, a dynamic city that perfectly combines modernity and historical heritage. Da Nang is a thriving urban center, but it also retains a deep respect for its past.

One of Da Nang’s premier cultural attractions is the Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn), a group of five marble and limestone hills. Each of these mountains is named after natural elements: Kim (metal), Thuy (water), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire), and Tho (earth). These mountains are home to numerous Buddhist caves and pagodas, offering a fascinating insight into the region’s religious and spiritual heritage.

Arriving in Quy Nhon, passengers discover a coastal town largely untouched by mass tourism, offering an authentic cultural experience.

Quy Nhon is the gateway to the Binh Dinh Cham Towers, ancient structures that bear witness to the past grandeur of the Cham civilization. The Thap Doi, Banh It, and similar sites are impressive examples of Cham architecture, with their majestic red brick towers adorned with detailed carvings.

Daily life in Quy Nhon is deeply rooted in local traditions: local fishermen in their typical wooden boats practicing traditional fishing techniques, Quy Nhon’s local markets are also rich in culture, offering a variety of fresh seafood, local produce, and handicrafts.

ANANTARA QUY NHON VILLAS

As SOON MAGAZINE stepped out of the train in QUY NHON we headed to Anantara Quy Nhon Villas for a real paradise retreat.

Nestled in a bay where the emerald sea is fringed by white-sand beaches, Anantara Quy Nhon Villas is a property from the luxury Anantara hotel brand, located in south-central Vietnam.

Anantara Quy Nhon offers 25 luxurious villas set within a 7-hectare tropical garden. Each villa features a private pool and a dedicated Villa host service .

Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and offering breathtaking views of the East Sea, this resort perfectly combines privacy, elegance and nature.

“The overall master concept was to create a secluded and private guest experience of being hidden among nature. The design of the villas followed the existing typography and we retained the original rocks and trees of the natural landscape, while crafting a seamless living experience. We wanted the architectural language to be contemporary, yet show the infusion of indigenous materials and ornaments.” said Mr Hans Brouwer, Design Director, HB Design Co., Ltd.

“The interior concepts of the resort’s common areas were inspired by Vietnamese traditions and local bamboo craftsmanship, which influenced the patterns and character of the design elements we used, leaving guests with both a strong sense of place and uniquely local experience,” said Yu Jordy Fu, Creative Director, Marques & Jordy London, who spearheaded the interior aspects of the resort.
