TERRE D’HERMÈS   EAU GIVRÉE

By : Mário de Castro

I have a special emotion for the classic men’s fragrance from Parisian house Hermès, Terre d’Hermès, which this year celebrates 16 years on the market and has recently been unveiled in a new edition, TERRE D’HERMÉS EAU GIVRÉE.

Created by master perfumer, Christine Nagel, Terre explores a new territory of emotions.

“With this new creation, I wanted to challenge the idea that freshness is synonymous with a certain lightness. I sought to express the intense freshness of a land covered with ice, and the fusion of these two elements, a source of primary, regenerative energy for men. An icy cloak fertilises the earth, exalting it with new and vibrant strength.”

Refillable and sustainable, the bottle combines glass with aluminium, two fully recyclable materials. As if cut from ice, the object is sleek and limpid. Frosted glass and brushed aluminium evoke the notion of frost covering the earth. The H on its base is a subtle reference to the ancestry of a now-cult object.

Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée, an icy tremor and a generous power that explores a new territory where freshness and strength nourish each other. The Eau de Parfum combines the vigour of citron and the incisive freshness of juniper berry with the power of Timut pepper…all juxtaposed with the generosity of the woody, mineral notes characteristic of Terre d’Hermès.
