Rahul Mishra X Tod’s

Rahul Mishra X Tod’s

a Creative Collab That Adds Soul to Sole

Raoul Mishra exploded onto the international fashion scene in 2020 when he was the first Indian designer in history invited to show his collection at the Paris Haute Couture Week. His namesake label takes slow fashion and sustainability to a whole new level, as his emphasis on traditional Indian hand-weaving and hand embroidery provide sustainable and ethical livelihoods for over 1,000 artisans in his ateliers in rural Delhi.

Fashion can be particularly powerful, he said, when you slow down the process of creating things.”

His lavish creations have been worn on the red carpet by Gigi Hadid, Zendaya, Law Roach, Priyanka Chopra and Gwen Stefani, and by Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan to the Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant pre-wedding, where his creations were much in evidence on the guests.

Tod’s Factory (aka T-Factory), was launched by the Italian heritage brand in 2018 to give established and rising stars of fashion design a place to express their creative vision for Tod’s through limited edition pieces.

Tod’s traditional Italian craftsmanship and Mishra’s hand embellishment make the Rahul Mishra X Tod’s a collab made in heaven. The capsule collection sees Tod’s signature Gommino, loafers and Timeless T mules hand-embroidered in silk with Rahul Mishra’s Tree of Life emblem onto suede, velvet and metallic leather by expert kaarigar [artisans], who have been mastering this art for generations.

Tod’s iconic Di Bag is embellished with embroidered motifs inspired by nature, the label’s constant muse, while the T Timeless shoulder bag is embellished with gold zari floral embroideries, crystals beads and sequins.

“Having had the opportunity to work on this project has been a great honour for me. This collaboration is special. To me, this partnership expresses artisanal mastery, Italian elegance as well as our intricate Indian craftsmanship,” says Rahul Mishra.

These perfect couture accessories to eveningwear are designed to endure.

As Mishra states, “I never want to be a moment in fashion.”
