FRIEZE ART FAIR London 2025 was the best reason for kinetic artist BREAKFAST (Andrew Zolty) to make his London debut with Consumption (2024) at the recently opened THE CHANCERY ROSEWODD, Mayfair.

Installed in the hotel’s grand north entrance, the large-scale kinetic sculpture visualises live environmental data to explore cycles of use and renewal — underscoring The Chancery Rosewood’s bold commitment to embedding contemporary art within its architecture.

BREAKFAST unveils new works including Spectral Flashbacks — a continuation of his acclaimed Flashbacks series first shown at Miami Art Week 2023 — alongside Frinton (Warming Sea) (2024) and the Water Series (2025).

BREAKFAST says it all : “It is an honour to have my work presented at The Chancery Rosewood during Frieze 2025 – a moment when the city is alive with art from around the world. Placing Consumption in such a visible, public setting allowed thousands of visitors to engage directly with the piece and reflect on their role in the larger systems shaping our planet. For me, it’s exactly what art during Frieze should do: spark dialogue and connection.”

Consumption at The Chancery Rosewood, represents a pivotal moment in BREAKFAST’s practice, bringing a monumental, data-driven artwork into the public sphere at the heart of London’s cultural calendar. Consumption immerses visitors in an interactive meditation on resource demand and scarcity. Constructed from marble, gold-tinted stainless steel, motors, custom software, camera, and computer, the sculpture translates real-time data on rainfall, reservoirs, groundwater levels, and municipal supply into undulating kinetic patterns. When left undisturbed, the arch pulses with an abstract rhythm of water usage; as viewers approach, its golden surface rotates to mirror their reflections, confronting each individual with their role in the ongoing cycle of consumption.

BREAKFAST’s practice expands the possibilities of digital and kinetic art, weaving together artificial intelligence, data visualisation, and physical motion to create experiences that confront pressing ecological realities. With landmark presentations at the Venice Biennale, Rockefeller Center, NEOM, and Harvard University, BREAKFAST has become a leading voice in the dialogue between art, technology, and environmental consciousness.
